I'm thirteen. You may not have piles of homemork, but I sure do! ... No, that's being mean. Well, I don't have much time for this anymore, so goodbye, for now.
Hey, at least I'll be remembered for making the Main Page layout!

Hello

Hi everybody. You can put things here. --45thuserHello 01:18, 28 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Welcome

Welcome!

Welcome to the Simple English Wikibooks!

We hope you are happy editing here. Some helpful pages to start you off are Wikibooks:Community Portal and Help:Contents.

If you want to meet and talk with other members, you can visit the Simple English Wikibooks Simple talk. Just remember that you should sign your messages on Talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words. It is a good idea to look at the rules before you make many changes.

I am very excited that you are helping out!

If you have any questions about how things work, don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page. Happy editing! --Cromwellt|talk|contris 04:37, 29 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Vocabulary and how to welcome

I think you did the right thing when you removed the BE850 from the vocabulary page. The book is to teach them good English, not to give lists like that. I think that list belongs here as a kind of appendix, maybe at Wikibooks:Basic English alphabetical wordlist, so that editors know what words to try to limit ourselves to, but it should not be in the Wikibook on English. --Cromwellt|talk|contris 04:37, 29 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

If you want to welcome someone, try using the == Welcome! == Welcome to the '''Simple English Wikibooks'''! We hope you are happy editing here. If you want to meet and talk with other members, you can visit the Simple English Wikibooks [[Wikibooks:Simple talk|Simple talk]]. I used it up above, though I did add the last two lines separately. --Cromwellt|talk|contris 04:37, 29 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Policies and guidelines

You mentioned an interest in adding guidelines. Policies and guidelines are some of the things we need here as part of the infrastructure, so feel free to go ahead and add them, as long as they make sense and the community agrees (basically me and User:Michael for now). It is pretty much an unwritten policy right now (like all the rest) that all policies from English Wikibooks apply here unless/until we have our own. --Cromwellt|talk|contris 04:37, 29 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Changes

You may notice that I have made changes to many of the pages you've edited. I don't know how familiar you are with wikis, but that is how they work. Please don't take it personally. Just as you improved the pages you found, I improved on your improvements. Let's work together to make this wiki great! --Cromwellt|talk|contris 04:37, 29 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

They want to close us down!

Please read the advisory on the main page, and respond if you think we should stay open (as I assume you do). Some users (notably Netoholic from SEWikipedia) think we should be closed. Let's not let them! --Cromwellt|talk|contris 06:43, 29 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Admin rights request

As far as your admin rights request, I'd like to see you work here a little longer before I'll feel really comfortable supporting your request. I'm glad you're eager to jump right in, but maybe we could wait just a little while and see how things go. If you continue working as actively and productively as you are now, I'll be happy to support your request in a few weeks, or maybe sooner. Good things come to those who wait. --Cromwellt|talk|contris 06:43, 29 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I apologize for not getting back to you until now regarding this. Your edits all seem good, but they seem to have disappeared since June! And 80 edits is still a very small number. If you had something like 300, I would be much more inclined to give you the go-ahead. SEWikipedia says you should have about 1000. Even if you had over a hundred, it would be something. If you come back strong on this project, I'll again consider supporting you for admin rights. --Cromwellt|talk|contribs 09:42, 3 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
