There are ten different positions in rugby. Each team has fifteen players on the field at one time. The positions are:

Forwards

• Prop (2 people)
• Hooker
• Lock (2 people)
• Flanker (2 people)
• 8-man

Backs

• Scrum half
• Fly half

• Wing (2 people)
