Alnus acuminata is a South American tree species that inhabits the upper levels of the Tucuman-Bolivian forest region, between 1,300 and 2,500 m over sea level. Common names (in Spanish): aliso, aliso del cerro, aliso colorado, also blanco, aliso criollo, aliso montano. It reaches 25 m in height and 40 cm in diameter.
